‘Kept Staring At Photo….’ Passenger Recounts Final Moments Of Indian-Origin Woman On Qantas Flight

A heartbreaking incident unfolded on a Qantas flight from Melbourne to Delhi as 24-year-old Manpreet Kaur, of Indian origin, tragically passed away just before takeoff. Kaur, who was returning to India to reunite with her family after a four-year absence, suffered a medical emergency believed to be related to tuberculosis.

According to eyewitness Ravinder Singh, a retired Army officer seated next to Kaur, she appeared unwell from the moment he boarded the flight. “When I entered, she was already seated and looking at photos on her phone. I asked about a picture of an elderly couple, and she smiled, nodding in affirmation,” Singh recounted to News AU.

As the flight prepared for departure, Manpreet Kaur leaned forward with her seatbelt fastened, resting her head on the seat in front of her. Singh, concerned about her well-being, alerted a flight attendant, expressing his worry. Despite efforts by the crew to revive her, Kaur did not regain consciousness.

Singh, deeply affected by the incident, shared his sympathy for Kaur’s family, who had eagerly awaited her arrival in Delhi. “It was meant to be her first reunion with her family in four years,” he lamented, reflecting on the tragic turn of events that prevented her from reaching her loved ones.

The Qantas flight crew’s swift response and efforts to assist Kaur were noted for their commendable actions during the medical emergency. The incident underscores the unpredictability of health emergencies and the profound impact on individuals and their families.

Kaur’s sudden passing has left a poignant reminder of life’s fragility, resonating deeply with those onboard and beyond. The airline and authorities have extended their condolences to Kaur’s family as they navigate this devastating loss.

The circumstances surrounding Kaur’s medical emergency are under investigation, with authorities focusing on providing support to her family during this difficult time. The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of health awareness and preparedness, even during routine travel.
