A disturbing incident from Mandya district in Karnataka has sparked widespread anger after a video of two youths stopping a school bus and harassing students went viral on social media.
The incident took place on Monday, December 8, in Krishnarajapete (KR Pete) taluk, and has once again raised concerns about the safety of schoolchildren in rural areas.
Youth Stop School Bus on Village Road
According to reports, the school bus was returning from Kikkeri and dropping children to nearby villages when the two accused stopped the vehicle on the Basavanahalli–Vaddarahalli road.
The youths, identified as Girish (20) and Kiran (20), allegedly parked their scooter in front of the moving bus, forcing the driver to halt.
The driver recorded the scene on his phone, and the video is now being widely shared online. The clip shows one man approaching the driver’s window while the other joins him moments later, both behaving aggressively.
Viral Video Shows Intimidation and Abuse
In the viral footage, the two men can be seen confronting the driver in a threatening manner. They reportedly spoke rudely, used abusive language, and created panic inside the bus. The children, many of them very young, were left terrified as the situation unfolded in broad daylight.
Witnesses claimed that the accused were intoxicated at the time. Some social media posts also alleged that they were under the influence of ganja, further heightening the seriousness of the issue.

Class 9 Girl Targeted and Asked to Step Out
One of the most shocking parts of the incident was when the men allegedly demanded that a Class 9 girl get off the bus. The reason behind this disturbing demand remains unclear, but their actions left the students and staff scared and helpless.
Fortunately, the driver and school staff refused to allow the girl to step out. They kept the children inside until the situation was under control. The video also captures the fear among students who watched the incident unfold silently.
