Job Seeker’s Classic Tactics Win Over Senior Swiggy Executive: Check Out The Post

Saptarshi Prakash, the AVP of Design at Swiggy, recently revealed how he was amazed and admired a job applicant’s unusual approach to the application process. Posting on X, Mr. Prakash revealed he received a handwritten letter from a designer eager to join Swiggy. “In a digital age, this old-school approach stood out,” he noted while displaying images of the letter. The applicant pitched a fresh idea to improve on the user experience on Swiggy. He said, “I would love to present it to you and the team if given the chance. What I am truly hoping for is a single opportunity to express myself and showcase my work in front of you.”

While Mr. Prakash said there is no opening currently available in UX/UI design at Swiggy, he encouraged the candidate to email him the concept. In the follow-up LinkedIn post, he updated, “While we don’t have a suitable role for you at Swiggy right now, I’ve certainly recognized your initiative.” He also invited the applicant to send him an email, famously making light of the situation as he said, “I’m sure you’ll find my email address—you managed to find my physical one!”

Since posting it a few days ago, it’s garnered over 40,000 views on X, and nearly 7,000 reactions and over 100 comments on LinkedIn.

One of the users on X responded, “Refreshing to see someone using a paper and a physical medium itself these days. Bookmark it!” Another user suggested, “This designer can think outside the box of alternative ways; if Swiggy does contractual projects, getting him on board would indeed be a great story!”

A LinkedIn user said, “Wow, that’s dedication! I hope the fellow used a fountain pen to pen the letter and sealed it with wax too. Of course, all jokes apart, it is refreshing to see someone using a creative approach to finding a job. Cheers to them for thinking out of the inbox! To the Swiggy team, thanks for being open-minded and willing to give this person a chance. Who knows, they may just be the missing piece of your design puzzle. All the best to all concerned!

Another user added, “More power to this individual who stood out with their approach—hope they get an opportunity of their choice.”
