Indian influencer Anish Bhagat, who is known for his good deeds for the vulnerable, recently went to one of India’s most popular red light districts to meet Roxy, a sex worker and one of his followers. Bhagat has earlier captured hearts across the nation with his gestures, like spending a day with an auto driver abandoned by his son and helping his house help purchase her first home without loans.

In this heartwarming act, Bhagat spent the whole day with Roxy, treated her to sushi, and shared the experience in an Instagram video that has elicited over 17.7 million views.

This experience was described as “eye-opening” and commended her resilience and wisdom. She indeed is very strong and wise. She is a professional of 15 years now renting her own flat to teach children. Her daughter she keeps away from this world and gives the best of education at an English-medium school,” Bhagat wrote on his post.

The video begins with Bhagat announcing his visit to one of India’s most well-known red light districts, where he met Roxy. He shows Roxy’s video of her home, in which she says, “This is my room. I never bring anyone here, you’re the first one.” Roxy then goes on to narrate the painful past that had made her life so miserable, that after her father’s death, her uncle sold her to the trade. “It’s been 15 years, and my youth is gone. Even the pain has gone,” she says, with tears in her eyes.

Roxy, despite her hard life, finds solace in books. She shares the book she’s currently reading with Bhagat and speaks passionately about the suffering women like her endure. “I feel the pain of women by being here. Our life is a waste. Stop rape, come to us,” she says.

When Bhagat offers to do something for her, Roxy expresses a desire to try sushi, and the video ends with them enjoying the meal together at a restaurant.
