India's Tallest Eco-Friendly Ravana Effigy

As preparations for Dussehra unfold across India, the national capital showcases a remarkable 211-foot tall effigy of Ravan, installed in Sector 10 of Dwarka. Organizers revealed that it took four months to complete the structure, which involved the hard work of 40 individuals. This towering effigy stands out not only for its height but also because it is crafted entirely from eco-friendly materials, with a total budget of Rs. 30 lakhs.

Rajesh Gehlot, the organizer from the Dwarka Shree Ram Leela Society, stated, “It took almost four months to make this Ravana effigy. The expenditure was around Rs. 30 lakhs. You will get to see the tallest and most beautiful Ravan effigy in Dwarka.”

A Symbol of Triumph

The effigy surpasses the 92-foot replica of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir and is constructed from iron, adorned with a velvet outfit, and crowned with fibreglass. Its foundation extends 10 feet underground, ensuring stability.

Gehlot mentioned that they have invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the event and remain hopeful for his presence. He emphasized the symbolism behind the effigy, saying, “As we can see, sin is increasing in society, so this effigy symbolizes the growing sins, and we will burn them all on Dussehra, that is, on October 12, 2024.” Invitations have also been extended to other BJP leaders.
