Indian YouTuber Ishan Sharma recently traveled first class on an Emirates flight and posted the whole experience online for his social media followers. But the 23-year-old has been criticized for the video, with many accusing him of being ‘show off’ behavior and flaunting his riches.
Past Claims of Wealth Sparked Earlier Controversy
Ishan Sharma had stated in a 2024 video that he makes more than ₹35 lakh every month. The BITS Goa dropout referred to it as a “small amount” that “does not enable him to go outside and do business.” He had been trolled then for boasting about his wealth.
Youtuber Tells About Perks Of Emirates
Now Sharma is once again the subject of such claims – this time for his Emirates video. The YouTuber took his viewers on a tour of his “private suite 40,000 feet in the air”, highlighting to them all the perks that are part of the luxury ride.
These facilities included a 24-inch TV, unlimited snacks, choice of beverages, comfortable seating, and even a dedicated area to keep his luggage. His videos, posted on Instagram and YouTube, also demonstrate how Emirates cabin staff looked after him.
Indian YouTuber Shares Motivational Message
On Instagram, Sharma put up text on his video that was: “Work while they sleep. Learn while they party. Save while they spend. Then live like they dream.”

On YouTube, he clarified that he was returning to India from Seattle on an Emirates flight. He was invited by Microsoft to the United States. Sharma stated that traveling first class was a “dream come true” and thanked people who encouraged him through his content-making journey.
“I’m just glad I did not give up after all the negativity on Twitter. After all my hostel mates at BITS started trolling me for starting a YouTube channel,” he said.
The Backlash
Though the YouTuber might have been thanking God for everything he’s had in life, social media users were not yet finished with the negativity. The comments section of his post was full of comments from individuals who accused him of ‘flaunting’ his wealth.
“This video is so cringe in every sense. It screams oh wow look at me I’m flying business because I work while they sleep,” opined one Instagram user.
“But had you been content with all the achievements, wouldn’t you just be enjoying the experience instead of focusing on recording it? Are you after the career related achievements or social validation/acceptance?” another asked.
“I haven’t seen any Ambanis or global elite showing or glorifying their success. Why most of the time either a course seller or a trader shows this?” a third person asked.
But Sharma also had many good-wishers who cheered for his success. “Awesome, Ishan! We can feel your joy through your words. Wishing you all the best!” wrote one YouTube commenter.
