‘Humble and Friendly’: ‘Food Pharmer’ Recalls Sudha Murty Seeking His Help on Food Adulteration Research

Influencer Revant Himatsingka, also known as “Food Pharmer,” gained popularity for analyzing the ingredients in packaged foods. He rose to fame in 2023 when his review of Cadbury’s Bournvita’s sugar content went viral, leading the company to reduce sugar in their product. Recently, Himatsingka described an important milestone in his career: being contacted by Sudha Murty for his expertise on food adulteration research.

In a video, he shares, “My biggest honour in my journey as Food Pharmer is when Sudha Murty ma’am contacted me to provide research on food adulteration for Rajya Sabha.” The video also includes a clip of Murty speaking during the monsoon session of Parliament, where she highlights food-related health concerns. “What kind of food we eat and what kind of disease we get, we should think in the modern era,” Murty states, emphasizing three ingredients common in the hotel industry: synthetic color, synthetic vinegar, and tasting powder. She warns, “Because they look nice, it is tasty, but people are not aware that it will become a problem in the future.”

Himatsingka praised Murty as the “most humble person” he’s met, adding that he’s encountered influencers with far fewer followers who show more arrogance. “She is by far the most humble person I’ve met and I’ve come across influencers with 1 lakh followers with more attitude than her,” he shared. “Unlike most public figures who usually hide behind managers, she directly WhatsApps almost like a friend.” Excited to continue assisting her, he noted, “Excited to assist her with research during the upcoming Winter Session of the Rajya Sabha as well! Imagine if the world’s most powerful people got together and fought for what is right!”
