Hotel Rates Soar to Rs. 90,000 A Night Ahead of Coldplay’s Concert in Ahmedabad

Coldplay’s highly anticipated Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 has sparked a frenzy among fans eager to secure tickets and accommodations for the British band’s “biggest ever show” at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25. However, the announcement has led to skyrocketing hotel prices in the city, with some fans voicing concerns about the surge.

Hotel Prices Surge in Ahmedabad

Fans on social media reported dramatic price hikes, with some luxury hotels charging exorbitant rates for a one-night stay during the concert. “Hotel rooms in ITC Narmada Ahmedabad are selling for ₹90,000 per night on the 25th. If you manage to get Coldplay tickets, you also need to spend six months of an Indian middle-class person’s income to simply visit the city. Coldplay plays, city’s hotels party,” X user Aviral Bhatnagar remarked.

An independent check by HT.com confirmed that a room at ITC Narmada for January 25 is listed at ₹75,000 (excluding taxes), with the final cost reaching ₹88,500 after taxes. For comparison, the same room a week before the concert is priced at ₹15,675.

Social Media Reactions

Social media is abuzz with complaints about inflated rates not just in 5-star hotels but across most accommodations in Ahmedabad. “Thought I’ll book a hotel room and keep just in case I manage to get the tickets for Coldplay in Ahmedabad. The prices just skyrocketed,” shared X user Ujval Chopra, along with a video showing prices exceeding ₹50,000 for January 25.

Another user noted similarly high prices for January 24-25, suggesting, “Pro-tip for people going to Coldplay: stay in Vadodara and commute to Ahmedabad.” Yet another user commented on the widespread issue, adding, “When even miles don’t come to rescue. Hotel Rates already skyrocketed for 25/26th in Ahmedabad.”

Coldplay’s India Tour Schedule

In addition to the Ahmedabad concert, Coldplay previously announced three performances at DY Patil Sports Stadium in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21 as part of the India leg of their world tour. Fans are eagerly preparing for what promises to be an unforgettable experience despite the logistical and financial challenges.
