A startling event occurred in Bhopal’s Barkhedi area on Friday when a 33-year-old drunk man, identified as Vivek Thakur from Aishbagh, climbed to the top of a mobile tower. His reckless behavior, including shaking the structure, triggered panic among bystanders, fearing the tower might collapse.
Swift Police Response Ensures Safe Rescue
The incident began around 2 pm when Thakur, visibly under the influence, started scaling the tower. In just 20 minutes, the drunk man reached a dangerous height, drawing a large crowd of alarmed onlookers. Witnesses quickly alerted the police and Municipal Corporation, prompting an immediate response from rescue teams, including the police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
ASI Rajendra Yadav from Jahangirabad Police Station confirmed the rapid deployment of emergency personnel. After engaging Thakur in conversation, rescuers managed to safely bring him down by 2:40 pm. Fortunately, he did not sustain any injuries during the ordeal.
