In the video, a professional rescuer is seen trying to carefully coax the huge king cobra into a sack. The snake, however, kept striking at the team, raising its hood and scaring the spectators off.

After a nervous and careful attempt, the team was able to catch the angry reptile. Authorities later confirmed that the king cobra was safely returned to nature, far from any human habitation.

Giant King Cobra Sighting in Dehradun, Uttarakhand

This is not the first time a huge king cobra has been spotted in Uttarakhand. Earlier in August, another giant cobra was spotted curled on the wall of a house in Dehradun, and people were filled with panic.

The sighting in Uttarakhand’s Jhajra range attracted big crowds, and people came to watch the huge snake. In the footage, a number of men are shown trying to coax the cobra down from a tree near a wall.

The reptile continuously lashed out at the rescuers, drawing its hood and scaring the onlookers.

As we started the operation, the cobra went defensive and attacked multiple times. It even charged at one of our workers, but luckily nothing happened,” India Today quoted range officer Sonal Paneru.

In a series of attempts, the rescuers managed to trap the aggressive reptile in a sack, with scarce equipment and poor conditions. The snake was later safely released in the forest, reports added.

There were no reports of injuries in either incident, but consecutive sightings of cobras and the hostile nature of the reptiles have sent villagers into a state of terror.
