Sadhguru, a name that echoes in the corridors of spirituality, has completed 68 years of his life on September 3, 2025. Born Jagdish Vasudev in Mysuru, Karnataka, he was the youngest of the five children in a Telugu family.
Sadhguru studied English Literature at the University of Mysore, where he explored several paths, including poultry farming. But, in 1982, he gained life's perspective while he was meditating on a rock. By 1983, he was teaching yoga, and in 1992, he founded Isha Foundation at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains near Coimbatore.
The foundation promotes yoga, education, rural development, and environmental initiatives. Sadhuru was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2017 for not only his spiritual teachings but also his ecological efforts.

Sadhguru's central mission is environmental conservation. He led several campaigns, such as Rally for Rivers, Cauvery Calling, and Project GreenHands, all focused on restoring natural resources in India.
Rally for Rivers gained global attention towards the depleting rivers of the nation and encouraged thousands of volunteers.
Interestingly, Sadhguru is a vehicle enthusiast. He is the owner of several high-end cars and bikes. Isha Foundation stated that every vehicle that he uses for campaigns and rallies is either returned to its donor or auctioned. The money generated through the auctions is used as the foundation's funding.
He has been seen with a Mercedes-Benz G-Class G 63 AMG, Toyota Scion 1000PS, BMW K 1600 GT, and Italian bikes like the Ducati Multistrada 1260 and Scrambler Desert Sled.

Sadhguru is often seen wearing classic Swiss watches like the Victorinox Swiss Army Cavalry and Cartier Pasha Seatimer. He has a simple and elegant style and speaks highly of the craftsmanship of his accessories.
He has attracted followers around the globe. Some prominent names are well-known Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn, Kangna Ranaut, and R Madhavan. Hollywood stars, including Will Smith, have also shown interest in Sadhguru's philosophical ideas.
Sadhguru is not just a usual man draped in saffron cloths; he is more than that. What sets him under the spotlight in the spiritual world is his ability to blend traditional and modern approaches. From teaching yoga and being vocal for the environmental crisis to owning luxurious cars, he has showcased that life can be enjoyed a full spectrum.
