In the video, which was recorded from a nearby car, a rope could be seen tied from the rider’s wrist to the constable seated behind him. When the vehicle draws closer, it is visible that the criminal with his hands tied is actually driving the bike.

Responses on social media were a mix of reactions from denial to acceptance. Some commenters questioned the officer’s judgment, and others responded with, “What’s wrong with this?” This incident brought the question to the fore if one should let a criminal be in charge of the vehicle.

The constable, who is involved in the incident, has been identified as being from Bhongaon police station in Mainpuri. Details about the identity of the criminal, however, are not available.

Mainpuri police responded to the situation by posting on X, saying, “The concerned person was directed to investigate and take necessary action (translated from Hindi).”
