Reactions to the video have been strong, with many condemning the shopkeeper’s actions. One commenter mentioned similar experiences in Bangalore, stating that overcharging is a common issue. Another commenter emphasized that charging above the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) is unacceptable, highlighting the shopkeeper’s misconduct.
Many commenters praised the customer for standing up against the overcharge, with one person sharing a similar experience and refusing to pay extra.
While acknowledging factors such as shop rent and time constraints in places like railway stations and airports, commenters agreed that the shopkeeper’s behavior was unjustified.
