Torrential rain in Gurgaon this week forced one resident to have little option but to pack her bags and move out of her own home, not for a holiday, but to escape water seepage and a power cut.

With no family in the city to turn to, the individual had to spend the night at a hotel and then vent her anger on Reddit, questioning the very concept of ‘quality of life’ in India’s so-called millennial city.

“Had to check-in into a hotel because of water leakage at home and power cut. Disappointed and sad,” the Redditor posted.

A City Life Bane Perspective

The same user continued adding, “It’s so sad that you don’t even have any relatives here where you could go and spend a night in such situations. Where is the quality of life, yaar? Each other individual these days is experiencing the same, each one of your friends is worried about it. And then, as usual, folks will complain about it for some days and resume normal life, because there is simply no solution.”

Social Media Responses Flood In

The post resonated with many on social media. One of the people commented, “Bhai relatives ke ghar bhi toh paani ghusta hi hoga.” To this, the original poster responded, “Haa wo toh main problem hai hi nhi ki relatives nhi hai, problem to ye hi hai na ki roz same hi disappointments hai, kabhi koi reason se kabhi koi kr reason se because of inconvenience in this city bas job k karan sab bas reh rhe hai.”

Others answered in a lighter vein. “Alright buddy I understand? You’ve got a water-front property. you don’t need to rub it on the people under-water,” someone cracked.

Another inquired, “Bhai konsa hotel hai merko bhi bta do, jrurt k time kaam aayga.” A fourth observer added, indicating, “There’s literally a solution and it’s called voting wisely.”
