In a horrific incident, a young man in Faridabad, Haryana, reportedly shot at a girl returning from her coaching classes on Monday evening.

CCTV footage of the incident has emerged showing the accused fleeing from the incident site after the tragedy unfolded in Shyam Colony. Police have launched an investigation to nab the accused, who appeared to be a jilted lover of the victim.

What Police Say About the Incident
According to the police, the girl was returning home after visiting a library. The video has captured her coming along with two of her friends. It also shows the accused waiting quietly on the other side of the road.
The moment the girl came closer, the accused intercepted her and fired a couple of shots from close range. Injured and panicked, the girl started screaming, gathering locals outside their homes. They immediately took the girl to a hospital and informed the police.

The police said the accused fired at the girl on her way home using an illegal weapon. The video presented before the court clearly indicated that the accused had attacked without any provocation.
The officials explained that the girl is currently receiving treatment, as her state is still critical.
A case has been registered in this regard, and the police have started a search operation to arrest the accused. They are inquiring of locals and monitoring CCTV cameras to track the movement of the accused.
Police are yet to confirm the cause of the incident. Further investigation is underway.
