Each city contains places that are mysterious, places where people will not go near due to frightening stories of spirits and ghosts. In Hyderabad, one such spot is Khairatabad Science College, once a bustling hub of learning, now avoided and feared, most especially at night.
Local resident Umer explained to Local18 that the haunted history of the college is based on many eerie accounts. One rumor is that when the institution was still in use, a portion of the building collapsed, resulting in its sudden closure. Since then, the building remains empty, with no one even attempting to enter.

To add to its eerie feel, locals say there are strange noises that can be heard at night, as if a person or something, is still occupying the abandoned college.
Unauthorized Experiments on Bodies
One of the most frightening stories of the college is that of allegations that, while operating, illegal experiments were conducted on dead bodies in the science lab. When the authorities found out, the lab was closed, and the college was sealed. It is said that the corpses were never disposed of properly, and they left behind troubled spirits that still haunt the area.
The Guard’s Mysterious Death
Following the abandonment of the college, there was a security guard who was tasked with keeping watch over the facility. Yet, his body was discovered in the building afterwards under strange conditions. Locals claimed that he had gone into the college on one evening when he heard weird sounds but never returned alive. His body was found the following morning, deepening the ominous mystery of the place.
After this unfortunate accident, Khairatabad Science College was one of the most dreaded places in Hyderabad, cementing its reputation as the city’s most haunted place.
