Popular singer Ed Sheeran, known for hits such as Perfect and Shape of You, gave a thrilling performance at Gurugram’s Leisure Valley Ground on Saturday. Thousands of fans from across Delhi NCR turned up to see the last India show of his Mathematics Tour, and Sheeran promised it would be a night to remember.

The audience was in for a surprise as Sheeran appeared on the stage donning the Indian cricket team jersey, expressing his solidarity before the Champions Trophy 2025 in the UAE. He was seen wearing the blue jersey and black trousers in an Instagram clip, accepting the love and enthusiasm of the fans. Fans responded with cheers and applause.

One of the fans posted a video of the moment on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Give Ed Sheeran his Aadhaar, Pan, and Ration card. Look at him nail the Dream 11 jersey. India love.” Another individual demanded, “Give him an Indian passport immediately, I demand.” The posts were filled with admiration and enthusiasm towards Sheeran’s act.

Inside Ed Sheeran’s Gurugram Concert
The evening began with a peppy performance by singer-actor Lisa Mishra, setting the perfect mood for the night. There was a wait of a few minutes before Sheeran finally appeared on stage, beginning with Castle on the Hill. Addressing the crowd, the 33-year-old artiste reminisced about his past tours in India, wishing to perform in more cities.
“I recall that my first tour of India was in 2015, we performed in Mumbai. When we came the next time, we played in Mumbai again, and the third time was also in Mumbai. On the last trip, I told them, ‘Why don’t we play somewhere else? ‘ They asked, ‘Where would you like to play next? ‘ I said, ‘Next time, we’ll play everywhere else except Mumbai. We will play all the cities in India,'” Sheeran revealed.
Ed Sheeran’s India Tour and Delhi Experience
Sheeran began his Mathematics Tour in India on January 30 in Pune, with performances in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Shillong. During his stay in Delhi, he visited different areas of the city and even made videos in Old Delhi.
“It’s amazing to see, we went to Old Delhi yesterday… What a place! Thank you so much for having me in your lovely country,” he said.
The artist enthralled fans with a string of hit songs, which included Thinking Out Loud, Photograph, You Need Me, I Don’t Need You, Take It Back, Don’t, Give Me Love, Lego House, and others. At one point, he stopped performing his song Happier after seeing somebody pass out from the crowd and made sure security took care of the person before continuing.
A Grand Finale with Chart-Topping Hits
Saving the best for last, Sheeran concluded the show with his most recognizable tunes. When he sang Perfect, the crowd erupted in raucous cheers. The crowning moment of the night was when he sang Shape of You—the instant the opening beats drop, the crowd went wild, singing every word in chorus, for a night that one would never forget.
