In a tragic event, a 23-year-old man from Telangana, Maloth Anil, was electrocuted while sleeping after coming into contact with a live wire he had extended near his bed to charge his mobile phone. The incident occurred on October 25, as reported by India Today.
While Anil slept, he accidentally touched the wire and suffered a severe electric shock. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital and later transferred to a government facility, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. He leaves behind a wife and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
In a separate incident, a 24-year-old man named Srinivas died from electrocution while attempting to charge his phone in western Bengaluru. Originally from Bidar, Srinivas received a fatal shock while plugging in his smartphone. His two roommates were present, witnessed the tragic occurrence, and quickly took him to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. It is believed that wet hands may have contributed to the risk of electrocution.
Additionally, in Noida, a 25-year-old truck driver named Arjeet Singh was reportedly electrocuted after the rear door of his truck made contact with a power transformer while unloading goods outside a sweets and snacks manufacturing company in Sector 68. Singh, a resident of Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, sustained severe burn injuries, and electricity supply in the area was subsequently cut off, according to Dhruv Bhusan Dubey, station house officer of Phase 3.
