Diwali 2025: Delhi’s Kartavya Path Glows With Millions of Diyas and Drone Show, CM Rekha Gupta Joins

As the season of festivals is approaching near to us, Delhi is going to celebrate a bombarding Diwali.  Social media visuals from Saturday showcased Kartavya Path illuminated with thousands of diyas as Delhi’s Deepotsav Diwali celebration kicked off. The event, organised by the Delhi government, also featured a spectacular drone show, captivating attendees and online viewers alike.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Attend Diwali Celebrations

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet ministers participated in public festivities in a joyous mood. The Chief Minister's Office emphasized the star attraction was a one-of-its-kind drone show representing the life of Lord Shri Ram in the evening sky.

CM Gupta described the visual treat "filled devotees with devotion and pride" and demonstrated that India's age-old traditions can go hand in hand with contemporary technology. She further stated Diwali symbolizes "the victory of light over darkness and truth over untruth," terming it not only a religious festival but a festival of togetherness.

She concluded by asserting that the government was determined to make Delhi "not merely an administrative capital but a cultural and spiritual symbol of India," pointing out that this year's celebration would infuse the city with a new identity based on tradition.

2 Lakh Diyas Light up at India Gate

The 2 lakh lamps lighting up, Ram Katha storytelling sessions, a drone show, and cultural performances of various kinds are the main attractions of the annual public event. The path was seen glowing with neat lamp rows on social media footage, and drones were making hypnotic formations in the sky.

Delhi Metro Alters Train Timings

To fit the festive rush, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced alterations to metro timings. On the evening of October 19, when Diwali arrived, services on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey lines will begin at 6 am rather than the normal 7 am.

Diwali Celebration Dates

Diwali is to be celebrated on the evening of October 20-21 this year, which shall be a colorful and joyous festival for the people of Delhi as well as all the tourists visiting Delhi.
