Ashley St Clair surprised the world on February 14 when she confirmed that she had given birth to Elon Musk’s baby. She indicated that she had given birth in September and asked the media to leave her and the child alone. Though her news took many by surprise, some internet users had earlier been speculating about St Clair being pregnant several months before the announcement.
Reddit’s Early Speculation
Speculation regarding a potential relationship between St Clair and Musk surfaced on Reddit as far back as June 2024. Posts on the ‘Elon Musk Fan Gossip Blog’ subreddit suggested that St Clair might be expecting Musk’s child.
It is not known what first gave rise to the speculation, but in December 2023 a since-deleted Tumblr post confirmed that Musk’s private plane had been spotted landing in Miami. One of the users responded, including that St Clair was also in Miami during the same time.
Several Reddit threads most of which were too explicit to share asserted that St Clair was pregnant with Musk’s child, with some suggesting that she had ‘trapped’ him. This narrative was seemingly supported by Musk himself when he replied to an X post that suggested St Clair had planned for years to “ensnare” him.
Kylie Kremer, president of the MAGA group Women for America First, also stoked speculation by asserting in a series of X posts that St Clair’s pregnancy was an ‘open secret’.”
Elon Musk’s Silence
Despite being very active on X, Musk has not addressed St Clair’s claims or verified the child in public.
After her statement, St Clair posted and later removed a post on X blaming Musk for ignoring her. She also informed The New York Post that Musk asked her to hide the pregnancy. “I was being asked to keep it a secret forever,” she said.
St Clair said that she finally felt compelled to come forward about the child’s existence because tabloids began probing. “I was totally cut off while I was pregnant. Every aspect of my career and everything I used to do I couldn’t do anymore. I was instructed not to tell anyone,” she asserted.
