City authorities issue Dussehra 2025 traffic advisory with key route updates, safety tips, and public transport guidance for smooth festival travel.

As Dussehra approaches on October 2, Delhi, city authorities have issued an important traffic advisory to help commuters navigate busy streets safely. Celebrations, including Ramlila and Dussehra events, have been holding in front of Red Fort since September 22 to October 3, 2025, attracting large crowds and leading to heavy traffic in surrounding areas.

Delhi Traffic Advisory: Routes to Avoid

Commuters are advised to avoid Netaji Subhash Marg in front of the Red Fort. Alternative routes have been suggested to minimize congestion:

  • Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail: Travel via Delhi Gate → Rajghat → Shanti Van → Hanuman Setu → Kelaghat → Chatta Rail.

  • Chatta Rail to Delhi Gate (return): Travel via Hanuman Setu → Salimgarh Bypass → Rajghat → Delhi Gate.

Diversions in Place

  • All commercial vehicles and DTC buses will be diverted from Delhi Gate Chowk, Daryaganj, and Chatta Rail Chowk between 5 PM and 12 Midnight from September 22 to October 3.

  • Traffic movement will be restricted on Netaji Subhash Marg (Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail Chowk) and Nishad Raj Marg.

  • Private vehicle diversions may also be enforced from:

    • Chatta Rail Chowk

    • T-Point Subhash Marg

    • Delhi Gate

    • Shanti Van Chowk

  • ASI Parking at Madhav Das Park (2A Parking)

  • Tikona Park Parking Space (No.3 Parking)

  • Sunehri Masjid Parking (T-5 Parking)

  • Parade Ground Parking

  • Dangal Maidan Parking

  • Omaxe Mall Parking

  • Church Mission Road Parking

For Vehicles With Parking Labels:

  • Nav Dharmik Committee: Near Lahori Gate & Ticket Ghar at Red Fort

  • Nav Shri Dharmik Committee: Near 15 August Park & Opposite Rampart

  • Lav Kush Committee: Inside 4A Parking Area

Exit Routes for Reserved Vehicles:

  • Nav Dharmik & Nav Shri Dharmik: via Gyan Path

  • Lav Kush Committee: via Netaji Subhash Marg

Nearest Metro Stations:

  • Lal Quila

  • Jama Masjid

Officials warn that heavy traffic is expected near major festival venues, parks, pandals, and city squares. Roads around city centers, shopping districts, and procession routes may face congestion, especially between 10 AM and 10 PM during main celebrations.

  • Temporary parking restrictions will be enforced near event areas.
