Comedian Sunil Pal Missing for Hours, Wife Reports to Police

Comedian Sunil Pal went missing for several hours on Tuesday, causing his family concern. His wife, Sarita Pal, filed a missing person report at Santacruz Police Station after several failed attempts to contact him, as reported.

Sunil Pal had gone outside Mumbai for a performance. He had told his wife that he would return home on Tuesday, December 3. However, when he did not come back and could not be reached, his wife decided to file a missing person report with the police.

Sunil Pal Reaches Out to His Family

Later in the evening, Sunil Pal contacted his family and confirmed that he was safe. He assured them that he would return home either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday. As a result, his wife withdrew the police complaint. However, the police will question Sunil about his whereabouts once he returns. An official confirmed this.

Sarita Pal told a paparazzo, “Sunil ji see baat ho gayee (I talked to Sunil). He talked to Police.”

Sunil Pal’s Rise to Fame

Sunil Pal became famous after winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. He later appeared in supporting roles in films like Hum Tum (2004) and Phir Hera Pheri (2006).

Controversy with Anees Bazmee

In 2017, Sunil Pal accused Bollywood director Anees Bazmee of refusing to pay him for a performance. He explained, “I have around ₹20-25 lakh stuck in the market with various producers. It is quite common in the industry for producers to pay up late. However, we, as artists, understand if a producer is genuinely out of resources or liquid money. But, when a producer like Anees – who plays in crores of rupees – behaves like this, it is not pardonable.”

In conclusion, Sunil Pal’s brief disappearance was resolved when he reassured his family of his safety. The police will follow up once he returns home.
