Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, stopped his concert at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, January 26, after noting a fan in distress. While starting to sing “My Universe,” the lead vocalist realized the situation and told his band members to stop the music.

He ran across to the end of the stage, pointing to a portion on the right side, saying, “Hold on, hold on. Hey, are you alright? Can you move her over so she is out of harm’s way, please?” He then instructed, “You sit there, ’cause it is getting squished. Or just sit down there. That’s safer.

He then resumed singing with, “My Universe again, please. I’m sorry. You stay there, you’re safe now. Okay, let’s go from the beginning. Please make sure you’re looking after each other. It’s very important.

The video of the accident became a viral hit immediately. The people praised Chris Martin on social media, giving much importance to the speed at which he responded to his fans. A comment reads, “Reason 62728951 why I love Chris Martin,” and another person commented, “This alone puts him in such an above level than most artists.”

Sunday marked the final show of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour in India. The band had already played in Mumbai and went on to do two shows in Ahmedabad, which it says was its biggest crowd ever-134,000. “Totally Mind-blowing. Thank you Ahmedabad,” the band posted on its official X page, saying it was its “biggest ever concert.”

Martin also spoke Hindi to the gathering, thanking it for such a massive attendance from all over India.
