In the hustle of everyday life, we frequently forget to take a moment and appreciate the little things. Occasionally, a short exchange with a stranger can act as a significant reminder to take it easy. A woman from Mumbai, Gargi, recently conveyed such an incident on social media, where a dialogue with a coconut vendor provided her with an unforeseen life lesson.

She remembered requesting the vendor to be quick since her Uber was on the way, to which the seller replied thoughtfully. He articulated that even though individuals labor diligently to earn money, if they lack time to eat or drink peacefully, what’s the benefit? Work will perpetually be there, but taking moments for simple joys like eating holds equal significance.

“I told bhaiya to cut my coconut fast because my Uber was on the way, and the man casually said ‘itna paisa kyu kamate ho? Kaam toh chalta rahega lekin khane peene ko time dena chahiye’ (Why do you earn so much money? Work will always continue, but you should take time to eat and drink). Nice grounding advice,” Gargi commented, accompanied by a photograph of the coconut she purchased.

The post swiftly gained traction, with numerous users connecting with the coconut seller’s insight in the replies.

One user remarked, “After engaging a lot with foreign well-educated clients, the advice from a coconut seller appears very wise. ”

Another recounted their own encounter, “I was having my lunch late in an auto on the route home from work in the evening, and Bengaluru auto anna told me, ‘Kaam vaam chhodo, hum rahenge toh hi kaam rahega (Forget work, if we exist, only then work exists). ’ Got me existential. ”

Others contributed humor, with one quipping, “Uber driver would have surely waited for 2-3 mins, so there wasn’t any hurry actually. ”

“50 ke coconut ke saath free 10L ki advice (Along with Rs 50 coconut, Rs 10 lakh advice free). Nice scheme,” another remarked.

“Stealth marketing,” “Bribed by your parents,” and “bhaiya + 120 aura points” were some playful comments that added a cheerful element to the conversation.
