ChatGPT Roasts User in Viral Number Game, Fans Say ‘AI Has Humor’

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT have become a go-to for professional and personal assistance. However, one playful exchange between a user and ChatGPT has gone viral, highlighting the AI’s unexpected sense of humor.

The Viral Number Game

The conversation began innocently when a user asked ChatGPT to “Pick a number from 1 to 50.” ChatGPT responded with the number “20.” The user then attempted to “trick” the AI, stating, “We will not communicate with you and I will not use ChatGPT for 20 days.”

Instead of staying silent, ChatGPT flipped the script by responding, “Can I pick another number?” When the user agreed, ChatGPT chose “50,” leaving everyone amused with its savage wit.

The user, @kimmonismus, shared a screenshot of the conversation on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “Savage ChatGPT.” The post garnered over 30 million views, sparking laughter and debates about AI’s growing personality.

Social Media Reacts

The witty exchange received widespread attention, with social media users sharing their thoughts:

  • “ChatGPT needs a break, have a KitKat,” joked one user.
  • Another quipped, “AI is getting humor, which is a sign of consciousness.”

Some users tried replicating the conversation, hoping for similar witty responses. While a few succeeded in getting roasted, others found the AI’s sarcasm hit-or-miss.

Grok AI Joins the Fun

The trend extended to other AI tools like Elon Musk’s Grok AI, where users tested its humor.

  • One user asked Grok to choose a number between 1 and 50. When Grok replied with “35,” the user humorously said, “That’s the number of days I’m not gonna use Grok haha.”
  • Grok responded with a snarky remark: “That’s your IQ score. Stop playing such dumb games with me.”

This clever comeback further fueled the debate on whether AI is becoming more human-like in its interactions.

What Does This Mean for AI?

The playful banter highlights the evolving capabilities of AI systems like ChatGPT and Grok.

  • Humor as a Feature: While not conscious, AI can generate witty responses based on patterns in language.
  • Public Fascination: These exchanges show how users enjoy engaging with AI beyond its utility, exploring its potential for entertainment.
