The shoot’s three-day manhunt had been intense, with the initial leads being a palm print, a shoe sole impression, and a rifle discovered in the forest. The pursuit only ceased after “someone very close turned him in.”

How Messages to Roommate Led to Charlie Kirk Shooter Tyler Robinson’s Arrest

The three-day hunt after the shoot had been on for real, with the initial leads being a palm print, an impression of shoe soles, and a rifle discovered in the woods. The hunt, however, only ended after “someone very close turned him in.” In a recent series of assaults on US politicians, right-wing and firm Trump supporter Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck and killed at a debate sponsored by Turning Point at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. A 22-year-old Utah man, identified as Tyler Robinson, was arrested on Friday as a suspect in the assassination plot.

The three-day pursuit after the shoot had been rigorous, with the initial leads only being a palm print, an impression of shoe soles, and a rifle discovered in the forest. Nevertheless, the pursuit only came to an end after “someone very close turned him in.” Within a few hours, two individuals were arrested by the FBI and police, only to be released when it was confirmed that the two accused were not part of the crime. A $100,000 reward was offered once video footage of him attempting to flee the campus was released.

Is Robinson a student at Utah Valley?

On Thursday, the state and the FBI implored the public for assistance by posting pictures and a video of the suspect, whom they believed was the shooter. The authorities described the shooter as “to be of college age” and blended in with the student body, although authorities clarified later on Friday that Robinson is not a Utah Valley student and that he had been residing with family.

Utah governor Spencer Cox, in a press conference on Friday, revealed that a family member of Robinson’s reached out to a friend, who in turn contacted the authorities with information that Robinson had confessed or implied that he committed the incident. “I want to thank the family members of Tyler Robinson who did the right thing,” he said. Cox reported that the family member recalled a dinner discussion prior to September 10 when Robinson had mentioned Kirk’s soon-to-arrive visit to Utah, criticizing him and stating, “Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate.”

What Message Did Robinson’s Roommate Display?

Robinson’s roommate also displayed messages he sent to him on the Discord platform explaining that he had left a rifle in a bush wrapped in a towel. US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News, stated that the information was provided by Robinson’s father through a “minister” who was in contact with law enforcement. “I hope he’s going to be found guilty, and I hope he gets the death penalty. What he did Charlie Kirk was the best person, and he didn’t deserve this,” Trump stated.

Robinson was taken into custody in the Utah County jail in Spanish Fork, 12 miles (19 km) south of Kirk’s university, where he was killed. He has not been officially charged yet.
