British Tourists Experience ‘Tripling’ on Indian Motorcycle :Watch

A British couple recently embraced an iconic yet risky part of Indian culture – “tripling” on a motorcycle – while in Nashik. Jack Aynsley and his wife, Paige Metcalfe, hitched a ride with a local man, getting a true taste of Indian transportation that doesn’t even have a word in English.

What is ‘Tripling’?

Tripling refers to riding three people on a single two-wheeler, a common sight in India but considered a traffic violation. Despite being illegal due to safety concerns and fines, the practice remains widespread. It becomes even more dangerous when helmets are not worn, which was the case during Jack and Paige’s adventure.

The Viral Video

Jack shared the experience in a video on Instagram, which has since gone viral with nearly 2 million views. The video starts with the couple asking a local motorcyclist for directions. After learning he’s going in the same direction, Jack asks if they can get a lift. The motorcyclist happily agrees.

The clip then shows all three riding together on the bike. “This is our first time doing three on a bike,” Jack remarks, sitting behind the driver. He then adds, “This is Indian style. I love Indian style,” which makes the rider laugh.

Warm Reception from Locals

In response to the viral video, many Nashik residents offered to host the couple at their homes, while others shared tips on places to visit in India. One commenter wrote, “I love Indian style got me laughing,” while another was impressed by Jack’s grasp of Hindi, asking how he had learned the language.
