Zomato-owned quick commerce platform Blinkit has launched a new feature that allows customers to return and exchange clothing and footwear within just 10 minutes in select Indian cities, addressing common issues related to size and fit. Blinkit’s CEO Albinder Dhindsa announced this initiative on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
“What are the details of Blinkit’s new apparel return and exchange feature?” he wrote. “Customers can initiate a return/exchange in case of a size or fit issue with the delivered product. This solves a crucial problem of size anxiety for categories like clothing and footwear. The cool part – return or exchange will happen within 10 minutes of raising a request!”
Currently, this service has been rolled out in cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune, after being tested in Delhi-NCR for several weeks. More cities are expected to be added soon, although the platform has not released specific details about the return and exchange process.
Blinkit offers a variety of apparel from brands like Adidas, Boldfit, Jockey, Liberty, Paragon, US Polo Association, and XYXX. This new feature is a response to growing competition from companies like Zepto, Swiggy’s Instamart, Flipkart’s Minutes, and BigBasket’s BBNow, all competing in the quick commerce market, valued at around $5.5 billion. Currently, Zepto offers a 72-hour exchange policy for damaged or defective apparel items only.
