Bigg Boss 18: Aniruddhacharya Issues Apology For Gifting Bhagavad Gita To Salman Khan

Bigg Boss 18 recently launched with great excitement as host Salman Khan kicked off the show. The grand premiere, which aired on October 6, 2024, introduced the 18 contestants entering the house. Spiritual guru Aniruddhacharya added to the event’s vibrancy by appearing in the opening episode to bless the contestants and gifting Salman Khan a copy of the Bhagavad Gita.

However, this gesture did not resonate well with some individuals, including religious leaders. Following the backlash, Aniruddhacharya issued a video apology, addressing his critics regarding his participation in the show.

In the video, Aniruddhacharya expressed regret to his fellow religious leaders for any hurt feelings caused by his appearance. He stated, “If my going to that Bigg Boss has hurt the heart of any Sanatani, then this son, your brother, your servant wishes forgiveness from all the Sanatanis. You will definitely forgive me because my aim is to propagate Sanatan.”

He further clarified, “And I will tell you once again, I will apologize to you millions of times. But I will say one thing again, I had said that I would not go to Bigg Boss, I did not go to Bigg Boss. I was not a part of those 18 contestants who went inside Bigg Boss. I went only as a guest to give blessings.”

He continued, “As a guest, I told everyone about the Bhagavad Gita, said good things, and everyone there said ‘Radhe-Radhe.’ If my gifting Bhagavad Gita has hurt anyone, I apologize,” he concluded.

Rejection of Participation in Bigg Boss 18

Months before the show commenced, there were rumors about the Instagram-famous guru being approached to join the Bigg Boss house. He had firmly denied such claims, asserting that he would not participate in the show.

During a podcast, when asked about entering the Bigg Boss 18 house, he responded, “We move from being humans to becoming deities, we do not become dogs.” He elaborated, “There are fighting, barking dogs there. What will we do there? Why should we lower the head of our Sanatan by going there? Even if someone gives us not crores but billions of rupees, we will not go. We are not like Bollywood which starts promoting gutkha for crores of rupees. They gave an offer of several crores. If I sit among the immoral, what will people say about me?”

Despite his negative remarks about the show, Aniruddhacharya still made an appearance as a guest at the grand premiere, which disappointed many and led to criticism on social media.
