The altercation occurred at the Anand Nagar intersection, where Governor Mangubhai Patel’s convoy was passing through. The man, who was near the convoy, became the target of the officer’s aggression despite no apparent provocation.

He stated, “No one is allowed near the Governor’s convoy, and the area must remain clear due to the high-speed movement of the motorcade. The individual had been warned by the police but chose to approach the convoy despite the warnings.”

In the wake of the incident, the police have launched a thorough investigation to examine the circumstances surrounding the assault. DCP Raghuvanshi confirmed that an ACP-level officer is leading the inquiry, and video footage of the assault has been retrieved as part of the investigation process.
