Beer Bottles And Punches Fly Over DJ’s Song Choice At South Delhi Club

A violent altercation broke out at a club in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area over the weekend, with videos of the chaotic brawl circulating on social media. Eyewitness footage captured a group of people engaged in a physical fight, throwing beer bottles and punches at each other while stunned staff and guests looked on helplessly.

Argument Over DJ’s Playlist Escalates

According to reports, the fight erupted when a group of guests became displeased with the DJ’s song selection and requested a change. The situation intensified when the DJ’s girlfriend intervened, allegedly leading to a heated exchange with the group.

A witness described the incident online, stating, “The DJ (probably) wasn’t playing good songs, so a group of 4-5 men and women approached him with song requests. When his girlfriend stepped in, one of the men lightly pushed her, leading to an argument.”

Matters quickly spiraled out of control when one of the guests slapped the DJ. In retaliation, the DJ began hurling beer bottles, glasses, and plates, injuring one of the individuals by smashing a glass over his head. The fight escalated further as both groups exchanged blows and abuses before the assailants eventually fled the scene. Police were informed shortly after.

Public Reactions and Concerns

The incident has sparked divided reactions online, with many expressing concern over increasing club violence in the city. One social media user remarked, “No respect for law and order. Some things never change despite education.” Another added, “Money doesn’t buy class.”

Others pointed out that such incidents have become increasingly common, raising questions about security measures at nightlife venues.

Not the First Instance of Club Violence

This isn’t the first time a club in Delhi has witnessed violence. Earlier in 2024, a similar incident occurred in the Satya Niketan area, where a group of young men opened fire at a pub following an argument with the manager over seating arrangements. Though no injuries were reported, police arrested five individuals in connection with the case.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the Mehrauli incident, but growing concerns over safety and security in the city’s nightlife scene continue to dominate public discussions.
