During its Glowtime event today, Apple launched the highly anticipated AirPods 4 in two versions. The standard model is priced at $129, while the upgraded version with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) comes in at $179. Both models feature a new design with replaceable ear tips for enhanced comfort and fit, making them more user-friendly than their predecessors. The launch also coincided with Apple’s announcements of the iPhone 16 series and the Apple Watch Series 10.
One of the standout features of the AirPods 4 is the introduction of a USB-C port for charging, aligning with Apple’s recent shift to this universal charging standard. Additionally, the higher-end version not only brings ANC, previously exclusive to the AirPods Pro, but also includes a Transparency mode, allowing users to hear ambient sounds when needed. The charging case for the premium model is equipped with built-in speakers, designed for easier location through Apple’s “Find My” integration.
Both versions of AirPods 4 are set to hit stores on September 20, promising a seamless experience for Apple users. With features like wireless charging and advanced gesture controls—where users can nod to accept or decline calls—the new AirPods 4 models mark a significant leap in Apple’s audio lineup, offering both style and practicality.
