Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh died at 92 on 26 December 2024 in AIIMS, Delhi. News of his death has started to fill social media with tributes. Among the most moving is a video tribute from digital artist Sahid SK, who is known for creating realistic images and videos with artificial intelligence.
The video shows Singh getting out of his wheelchair, dressed in the traditional white and blue turban, to wave goodbye. Singh was described by Sahid in his caption as a “visionary statesman” and “silent architect of modern India,” acknowledging his immense contribution to the development of the country. This video was a part of Sahid’s series that paid tribute to departed luminaries through AI visuals, that had earlier featured personalities such as Ratan Tata, Sushant Singh Rajput, Irrfan Khan, Zakir Hussain, and Lata Mangeshkar. Singh’s post, however, stood out for uniting the digital audience in collective remembrance.
