Fans were shocked when MS Dhoni was seen as Santa Claus last Christmas, but this time, an AI artist has imagined the Indian cricketing legend as a sadhu. Beautiful AI-generated images depict not only Dhoni but also other top Indian cricketers including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya, as sadhus during the on-going Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
The Bharat Army posted these images on Instagram, captioning it, ‘When MahaKumbh meets Cricket’, and it became viral in no time.
In one of the images, Dhoni is seen sporting a long hair look with a spiritual twist—wearing saffron robes and a garland, sitting peacefully by the holy Ganges. Rohit is seen adorning a rudraksha necklace, while Kohli is surrounded by devotees. Other cricketers like Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shreyas Iyer are also seen in a divine appearance.

It has over one lakh likes and quite a few interesting comments from fans, who find Kohli looks much older in this image. Someone humorously mentioned, “AI is dangerous.”
Another noticed how much KL Rahul resembles the infamous ‘IIT Baba’ which went viral earlier this year. Fun comments for each of the various portrayals – one declares Bumrah to be ‘the most handsome’, while another finds Shreyas Iyer resembling ‘Sanatani Jesus’.
As the Maha Kumbh continues till February 26, millions of devotees are attending the spiritual event. Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is gearing up for the Champion Trophy, scheduled to begin from February 20, with their first match against Bangladesh. India had earlier won the prestigious tournament in 2002 and 2013.
