Social media often showcases the world’s most unusual recipes, and a new one from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, has caught everyone’s attention. Vidhu Singh, a self-described “cake artist” and “passionate baker,” shared a video on Instagram where she combines cake with mutton keema.

In the clip, Vidhu prepares a spicy keema gravy to spread between layers of sponge cake. Instead of traditional icing, she decorates the cake with chillies and coriander leaves.

“I had made mutton kothu kari (keema gravy). Then, I made four layers of sponge and used only two since this was just a trial. I used the kothu kari as the icing between the layers as its juice, instead of sugar syrup, will get absorbed by the sponge,” she says in the video.

She added, “I infused the flavour of mutton in the icing and sponge, and made this cake. For the topping, I used the kothu kari and garnished it with chilli, and coriander leaves. My family also suggested that I keep the bone as a garnish. Let us know your comments and if you like it, place an order. Next dish, shall we try with chicken.”
