The well-known Vastu Shastri Khushdeep Bansal is allegedly involved in a big fraud case for ₹65 crore.
Assam Police, in collaboration with the Special Cell of the Delhi Police, apprehended Bansal and his brother on Monday. The Counter Intelligence Unit (CI) of the Special Cell conducted the arrest in the Barakhamba area of the national capital.
Securing the accused on transit remand on Monday morning, Assam Police promptly departed for Assam, where they are implicated in the ongoing ₹65 crore Autonomous Council scam. The scam also involves the son of a Congress leader from Madhya Pradesh.
Kamal Sabarwal, the proprietor of the Delhi-based Sabarwal Trading Company Private Limited, lodged a complaint against Bansal.
According to reports, Bansal admitted to the Delhi Police that he had introduced an individual to Kamal Sabarwal, thereby implicating himself in the fraud. Simultaneously, Assam Police assert that all the accused collaborated in orchestrating the elaborate scam that has now come to light.
Bansal serves as a consultant on various state government projects and acts as a strategic advisor to prominent businessmen and industrialists.
Bansal claimed in 1997 that the Parliament House library had architectural defects, which he claimed were the cause of governments falling, the statement garnered attention.
According to his proposed solution, placing copper wires underground between the Parliament and the library building would “restore balance,” enabling governments to complete their tenures without facing premature collapses.
