Due to constant rain, a portion of the well-known Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, has collapsed. On the Monday of Sawan, devotees who came to the temple to offer prayers encountered difficulties because the entrance to the temple was partially blocked by fallen trees.

Earlier on Wednesday, as many as 15 houses collapsed and seven cowsheds were completely destroyed in subsidence and landslides at Jakhan village, part of Madrasu gram panchayat on Langha Road, near Dehradun.
Jakhan villageĀ is home to about 15 families, comprising 50 people. However, no loss of life was reported in these incidents, officials informed.
Heavy rains also disrupted normal life in the Kaluwala area of Dehradun last week. Rainwater entered the houses and caused waterlogging on the streets.

According to information obtained by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) from the Disaster Control Room, continuous rain had caused serious waterlogging in the streets and had also entered residents’ homes in Dehradun’s Kaluwala neighborhood, disrupting daily life. The state’s flood-affected areas were earlier surveyed from the air by the state’s chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, who also checked the Ganga river’s rising water level in Rishikesh. This monsoon’s heavy rains in Uttarakhand have caused landslides and flash floods in a number of locations.
