After the devastation caused by nature in Uttarakhand, dengue outbreaks are also inspiring panic among the populace as the state has seen over 600 cases of the virus spread by mosquitoes.

According to the information received from the Health Department, Dehradun has the maximum number of four-hundred and eighteen (418) dengue patients while the toll in the entire state stands at six hundred (600).
Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Dehradun districts of the state are the most affected by dengue.

Health officials are battling a large increase in dengue cases following recent strong monsoon floods that swamped portions of Uttarakhand.
A viral ailment called dengue (break-bone fever) is transmitted from mosquitoes to humans.
The constant rain has caused waterlogging in some regions, which has created a favorable environment for the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes. These mosquitoes are in charge of spreading the Zika, chikungunya, and dengue viruses.
