Avdhoot Datar, a Kalyan resident currently working in the US, traveled to India specifically to vote in the elections but was disheartened to find his name missing from the voter list.

Datar mentioned that despite living in America, he returns to India for every election. Inspired by the development in India and the country’s growing respect internationally, he intended to participate in this election as well. He claimed to have checked at least six locations, but his name was not on any list.

Upon inquiring with election officials, Datar was informed that his name had been deleted from the voter list. Datar remarked, “When I visited the Area Returning Officer office situated at Mumbai University Sub Centre, I found many voters’ names were deleted from the voters’ lists.” He expressed his disappointment, noting that he had traveled all the way from America to vote for the country’s development but was unable to exercise his rights.

In the Kalyan and Bhiwandi Lok Sabha constituencies, thousands of voters reported that their names were missing from the voter lists.
