The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has issued a revised timetable for the Combined State/Senior Subordinate Services (Prelims) PCS exam. Initially scheduled for December 7 and 8, the exam dates were changed after protests from candidates who opposed the idea of conducting the UPPSC PCS in multiple shifts across two days. On November 14, the commission decided to hold the examination on a single day.

UPPSC PCS Prelims 2024 Exam Date

As per the updated notification, the UPPSC PCS 2024 prelims will now be held on December 22 in two sessions. The first session will take place from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by the second session from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

UPPSC RO/ARO Exam Date

The UPPSC has not yet announced the schedule for the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) exams. These exams were originally set for December 22 and 23.

UPPSC Exam Date Protest

Thousands of UPPSC aspirants protested against the decision to hold the PCS Prelims 2024 and the RO/ARO exams over multiple days and in different shifts. Demonstrators, who took part in the protest on November 11, demanded “One Day, One Shift, No Normalisation.”

As the protest continued into its third day, the commission agreed to hold the PCS prelims exam in a single shift. In response to the protest, the UPPSC postponed the RO/ARO exams and decided to conduct the PCS exam as per the original format.

The commission’s decision followed intervention from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who took note of the students’ concerns and directed the commission to engage with candidates and make the necessary adjustments.
