A cryptic post by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has stirred interest in political circles.
In a message shared on X, Mr. Maurya wrote, “The organization is bigger than the government, the pain of the workers is my pain. No one is bigger than the organization; the workers are the pride.”
The post came after a meeting between the UP Deputy CM and BJP party President JP Nadda in Delhi on Tuesday. Nadda also had another meeting with UP BJP Chief Bhupender Chaudhary.
Maurya is currently in his second term as the Deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh. In 2017, he served as the state BJP President when the party won a majority under CM Yogi Adityanath, securing 312 seats in the Assembly. Although Maurya lost the Assembly election in 2022, he retained his position as Deputy CM alongside Brijesh Pathak and was subsequently elected to the Legislative Council.
Earlier, on June 14, a state working committee meeting of the BJP took place in Lucknow, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that overconfidence had negatively impacted their expectations. The BJP had performed poorly in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
