Just a wildfire, or is something more out there? There have been conspiracy theories circulating after a fire was reported not far from Area 51, in Nevada. Columns of smoke were seen billowing from deep within the classified site.
Gothic Fire Confirmed, But Theories Persist
The blaze has been verified to belong to Gothic Fire, a wildfire ignited by lightning which has been burning Nevada since July 4. Even with the confirmation, conspiracy theorists have not hesitated to guess that it could be from a crashed test flight or a cover-up that went awry. One person indicated evidence was being destroyed, and another indicated perhaps individuals had finally stormed Area 51, a 2019 meme in which 500,000 individuals had pledged to do so. The blaze is approximately 15 miles from the military base, the Daily Star said. It is presently raging through where the above-ground nuclear tests were conducted, that is, the Nevada Test Site, which is 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
Since the Department of Defence, who own land on which Area 51 stands, as well as the lands surrounding it, have the fire in their jurisdiction, the authorities are trying to determine what to do next. The Gothic Fire, on the other hand, is burning primarily across northern Nevada at a rate of 366k acres.
Weather and Terrain Fuel Ongoing Blaze
In the wake of high temperatures and low humidity within the state, the fire is fueling. Additionally, the region is filled with timber and grass, thus the fire has enough to consume as it keeps burning.
Apparently, no evacuation has been made, even as the fire increased in size, with no immediate danger to any buildings. It is zero percent contained, and there is no projection on full containment at all.
Area 51 is an American Air Force base, which has been shrouded in mystery for decades, and since the nature of the work being conducted is classified, numerous conspiracy theories associating the facility with UFOs, experimental, and alien flight tests have abounded.
