US President Donald Trump went golfing on January 26 for the first time since taking office. Golf is a favorite sport of the president, who owns multiple golf courses worldwide. On Sunday, he was spotted walking on the greens of his Trump National Doral Miami course carrying a golf club while wearing a white polo shirt and black pants.

A video of the moment was shared by Bo Loudon on X (formerly Twitter).

During his election campaign, Trump was often in the news for his golfing prowess. He even took a lighthearted jab at former President Joe Biden by challenging him to a golfing match.

Kai Trump, Trump’s granddaughter, is also a golfer. After Trump’s win in the 2024 Presidential election, Kai posted pictures of them playing golf together and captioned them: “Sundays with Grandpa 💛”

Aside from the amazing golf game that he showed at the driving ranges, Trump earned admiration even among professional golfers. According to Bryson DeChambeau, an athlete with whom he made an attempt on ‘Break 50’, a YouTube challenge, mentioned, “Man, his iron play was great. I cannot tell you how many times he stuffed it in regulation within 30 feet. His driver swing is the most repeatable thing I have ever seen. I wish mine was that repeatable. Really, I do.”

Shortly after he was declared president, Trump appeared at the Palm Beach Convention Center during a Thanksgiving speech in which he addressed DeChambeau onstage, lauding the golfer. He commented, “We have up here today the U.S. Open champion. He’s a fantastic golfer. A little longer than me. Hitters the ball a little bit longer than me. Just a little bit.”

DeChambeau collaborated with Trump for the ‘Break 50 Challenge’, where his video became a massive hit, raking in views of 13.8 million people. Also through this partnership he increased his YouTube subscribers remarkably, taking that up to 1.7 million in number.
