US Leadership “Essential” for Peace, Says Ukraine Minister

Kyiv: Ukraine’s foreign minister, Andriy Sybiga, stressed the importance of US leadership in securing a peaceful resolution to the ongoing war. During a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday, Sybiga emphasized that Ukraine remains committed to ending the conflict.

“Ukraine wants the war to end, and US leadership is essential for achieving lasting peace,” Sybiga wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The Ukrainian government has consistently sought international support, particularly from the United States, to counter ongoing aggression and push for diplomatic solutions. The US has played a key role in supplying military aid and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine throughout the conflict.

While Ukraine continues to advocate for an end to hostilities, it remains firm in its stance that peace must come with security guarantees. The discussion between Sybiga and Rubio highlights the strategic partnership between the two nations and the ongoing efforts to find a sustainable resolution to the war.
