This was according to one passenger who narrates, “We had already been served our meals when the plane lost pressure and dropped. We noticed a sharp descent. I hit my head on the ceiling because of the impact. The sharp descent happened three times, causing some people to sustain injuries.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) stated that all the passengers had deplaned successfully, although four passengers and two crew members received serious injuries and 27 other passengers and five crew members sustained minor injuries. Emergency services came promptly to attend to their cases.

The Boeing 787-8 safely landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport. Emergency services had been put on standby to aid the passengers who were injured during the accident. Those with major injuries were rushed to a hospital near the airport, while others were supported at the airport.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the technical malfunction that led to the sudden plunge and loss of cabin pressure. United Airlines confirmed that they are working with local officials to establish the cause and support the victims.
