Trump Warns of ‘World War III,’ Claims His Leadership Will Prevent It

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has cautioned that “World War III” is “not so far away” while asserting that his leadership would prevent it. Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative Institute Priority Summit on Wednesday, Trump emphasized his efforts to end conflicts and restore peace.

Trump’s Push for Global Peace

Addressing the audience, Trump highlighted his commitment to resolving wars. “Around the world, I’m moving quickly to end wars, settle conflicts and restore the planet to peace – I want peace, and I don’t want to see … everybody being killed,” Trump said in Miami, as reported by CNN

Highlighting the ongoing violence in the Middle East and the Russia-Ukraine war, he reaffirmed his commitment to ending conflicts. “And take a look at the death in the Middle East, and the death that’s taking place between Russia and Ukraine that’s been going on, and we’re going to end it. There’s no profit for anyone in having World War III, and you’re not so far away from it, I’ll tell you right now, you’re not so far away. If we would have had [President Joe Biden’s] administration for another year, you would have been in World War III, and now it’s not going to happen,” he added.

Praise for Saudi Arabia and Criticism of Zelensky

Trump acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s role in facilitating U.S.-Russia negotiations regarding the Ukraine war, calling it a “big step.” However, he took a critical stance on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, labeling him “a modestly successful comedian” and “a dictator without elections,” suggesting a shift in U.S. policy favoring Moscow.

His comments followed an earlier online exchange with Zelensky, who accused Trump of living in a “disinformation space” and “(helping) Putin out of his isolation.”

Defending His Approach to Diplomacy

Justifying Ukraine’s exclusion from recent Saudi-hosted negotiations, Trump stated, “I love Ukraine, but Zelensky has done a terrible job – his country is shattered, and millions and millions of people have unnecessarily died – and you can’t bring a war to an end if you don’t talk to both sides.”

He concluded with a call for peace, saying, “So, we hope to see a ceasefire soon and to reestablish stability in Europe and the Middle East.”
