President Donald Trump signed several executive orders Thursday, which outlines his administration’s focus on artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, science and technology leadership, and granting pardons.
Trump opened the signing ceremony by stating the US will become the “world capital in artificial intelligence,” pledging the nation’s dominance in the field. He said that the United States must be the leading nation in the world for innovation and AI.
Following that, he signed a second order to forge an internal working group to work toward the mainstream development of crypto currency. He stated with pride during a speech recently, ” We are going to make a lot of money for the country ” regarding his booming leadership of cryptos.
A third order established a new Advisory Commission on Science and Technology. The commission will bring together experts from government, the private sector, and educational institutions to ensure the US maintains its leadership in technology for years to come.
But as that matter went toward a more personal angle, Trump signed another presidential memorandum requiring the federal agencies to promote the North Carolina’s Lumbee Tribe; he labeled this a “huge step” for the tribe.
Finally, Trump issued a new round of pardons, granting clemency to 23 “peaceful pro-life protesters” who were previously prosecuted by the Biden administration for their First Amendment activities. Trump criticized the prosecution of elderly protesters, asserting they should not have faced legal action.
The president’s executive actions signal a renewed focus on technological leadership, tribal recognition, and clemency initiatives as his administration moves forward.
