Trump Moves Inauguration Indoors, Citing Extreme Cold For Historic Ceremony Shift

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Friday that his inauguration ceremony will be moved indoors because of extreme cold. The outdoor event, traditionally held, will instead take place in the United States Capitol Rotunda, a venue famously used by Ronald Reagan during his 1985 inauguration under similar weather conditions.

Trump announced this through a post on Truth Social, stating that the decision was made to ensure the comfort and safety of the attendees. “I have ordered the Inauguration Address, along with prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the Capitol Rotunda,” Trump wrote. He also noted that dignitaries and guests would be accommodated inside the Capitol.

Besides the ceremony, Trump said the presidential parade would be moved to a nearby sports arena, giving everyone an indoor venue.

The decision is a significant change in the traditional system of an inauguration, with a big emphasis on the fact that severe weather would significantly affect this historic celebration.
