Trump McDonald’s Visit Backfires: Health Violations Spark Social Media Outrage

Donald Trump made a surprise visit to a McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania, where he briefly worked prior to the November 5 election. However, the restaurant was closed to the public, having failed its most recent health inspection due to staff negligence in hygiene practices.

During his visit, Trump operated the fry station and served takeout through the drive-thru. Despite claiming to be a germophobe and a fan of McDonald’s food, Trump chose not to wear gloves or a hairnet, asserting that his hands were “nice and clean.” Critics, including the media, reported that he did not wash his hands before starting his duties.

The inspection report from March 27 by the Bucks County Department of Health revealed several health code violations at the restaurant. Key issues included employees failing to wash their hands properly, handling raw meat without washing their hands afterward, and not wearing the required hair restraints. Additionally, the inspection noted that some food items were not stored at appropriate temperatures, and there was a walk-in freezer with significant ice buildup requiring maintenance.

Social media users criticized Trump’s lack of hygiene protocols, with some labeling his visit a publicity stunt. One user pointed out the restaurant’s closure meant employees lost wages, while another highlighted the health code violations depicted in photos of Trump “working” at the establishment.

Journalist Seth Abramson remarked, “The McDonald’s was closed, the customers were fake, Trump did nothing,” echoing the sentiments of many who viewed the visit as inauthentic.
