Sharjah Concludes Global Media Congress With Insightful Sessions

Abu Dhabi, November 29: Sharjah concluded its participation in the third Global Media Congress on a strong note, hosting over 20 interactive sessions and workshops that underscored its media innovation, cultural identity, and commitment to advancing the Arabic language.

Spotlight on Media and AI

The event showcased the Smart Media Platform of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, designed to streamline media activities for government institutions through advanced digital services. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, commended these initiatives during his visit to the Sharjah pavilion.

A key highlight was the discussion on Arabic content quality in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Mohamed Abdel Zaher and Dr. Sherine Moussa presented insights into using AI for automated Arabic content creation while addressing challenges and ethical considerations.

Debates on Social Media and Values

The pavilion hosted a debate titled “Social Media and the New Generation: Shaping or Destroying Values?” featuring graduates of the Ithmar Media Training Programme. The session emphasized raising awareness among youth about responsible social media use and its impact on cultural values.

Workshops and Interactive Platforms

Sharjah offered various workshops, including “The Future of AI in Media” by Moaz Al Omari, exploring how AI analyses audience trends to enhance content strategies. Another workshop on drone usage by Khaled Al Hosani educated attendees on controlling drones, safety systems, and prohibited zones.

Cultural Showcases and Media Advancements

The pavilion featured interactive platforms such as the “Hadith Shams” podcast and the “Collections from Sharjah Museums” exhibition, highlighting the emirate’s rich cultural and scientific heritage. The activities mirrored Sharjah’s achievements in education, food security, investment, agriculture, and youth empowerment, while promoting creativity and the Arabic language.

Through its participation, Sharjah reaffirmed its position as a leader in innovative media practices and its dedication to fostering a vibrant cultural and knowledge-driven community.
